台灣的房屋充斥著毫無遮蔽且外露的管狀物，這些管狀物可能是水管、風管，或是電管，它們集體朝著人的需求而彎折，穿越各式建築結構，隱身於鋼筋、天花板或屋頂內，那些暴露在外牆的管狀物，更是肆意妄為生長著，表面長出許多貼紙、噴漆、束帶、鐵絲，和牆壁間的凹陷處堆積大量廣告單，管子左右交疊彎折形成一種線條迷宮。

我試著將街道上收集來的，無法一眼知曉去向的，片段的管狀物，拼接成一長條《水管書》，請隨意地翻閱、展開、彎折它，享受這段在台北街頭散步的過程。

In Taiwan, pipes run openly across buildings—water, air, and electrical conduits bending and overlapping as if with a life of their own. Some disappear into ceilings and rooftops; others stretch boldly along exterior walls, collecting stickers, graffiti, and stacks of flyers. Together they sketch a tangled maze, both chaotic and strangely beautiful.

From these fragments I have pieced together The Water Pipe Book—a book to read, unfold, and play with. It carries the pulse of Taipei’s streets, inviting you to wander, to pause, and to enjoy the city in unexpected ways.
